A Science filled day

May 18, 2018

We had a double dose of Science today. In the morning, we had our last four Winds of the school year and enjoyed learning about honeybees.

We learned about the body parts of a honeybee as Mrs.Corrigan modeled for us. We learned about the waggle dance and why beehives are hexagon shaped. We also got to look closely at real bees to decide if they were workers or drones.

In the afternoon, we used Mystery Science to learn more about bird beaks. We did a super fun activity using straws, cups, beans and macaroni to understand how birds use their beaks. We practiced eating like a warbler and a duck. There was a bonus gummy worm for fun too!
